This design is from "The Oxidized City" short film. The film was self-produced and took almost 3 years to complete with a limited budget and a small team.
It serves as the second installment of "Distance", an anthology of shorts revolving around themes of alienation and rupture that I have been developing as a designer and filmmaker.

The Watcher is the main protagonist of the film, he is the engineer assigned to the upkeep of the Engine Tree and is responsible for the global functioning of the Oxidized Kingdom. He is a diligent being who lives a solitary life and likes to craft little mechanical birds as a hobby between his maintenance shifts.

Its design was inspired by pigeons, cats, chinese jiangshis and heavy industry.
